Increasing competition – Virtual paralegals are becoming more numerous, as individuals own their own business, want to spend more time with their families, and have more control over their careers. As opportunities for virtual paralegals increase as lawyers seek to reduce overhead, competition for these jobs intensifies, with more and more paralegals choosing to become “virtual” with their careers. The National Association of Legal Assistants defines a qualified lawyer as a person who “assists lawyers in providing legal services. Through formal training, training and experience, paralegals have knowledge and expertise in the legal system and substantive and procedural law that qualifies them to work legally under the supervision of a lawyer.
